Weighbridge Cabin
is a newly refurbished rustic wood cabin set in 10 acres
of land in the heart of the South Cotswolds. It is situated
at the edge of Britain's largest water park, Keynes
Country Park, which offers a wide variety of water sports,
leisure, activities and wild life. There are 133 lakes
covering 40 square miles offering a diverse amount of
activities including: kayaking, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing,
water-skiing, sub-aqua, and boat hire. Other local activities
includes: cycling, horse riding, archery, golf and paint
balling. There is also a leisure centre in nearby Cirencester
and an historic outdoor swimming pool.
The Waterpark also offers
a wide variety of wildlife having several nature reserves
with public access and viewing facilities where birds
including: Hobbies, Ospreys, Tern, Plover, Oytercatcher
and many others have been spotted. As well as birds,
there are fields locally that are home to various Orchids,
Snakehead Fritillary, Kingcups and other rare wild flowers
plus an abundance of unusual insects and butterflies.
Cirencester is
our local town at the heart of the Cotswold and is steeped
in Roman history. There is a local Roman museum and
a Roman villa in nearby Chedworth, which is in an area
renowned for is beautiful countryside.
